New Players and Parents: Things to Know

#1 | OUR COACHES ARE THE REAL DEAL.

#2 | WE ACTIVELY MARKET OUR PLAYERS

OUR RECRUITING GUIDE

We won't hand out rosters at tournaments. Rather, we're emailing this guide to 200+ schools and handing out hard copies to coaches at our games. The recruiting guide took us over 100 hours to create from scratch, all done in-house. Every player's profile is included, with all relevant info, clickable video links, pages sorted by velocity, 60yd time, and bat speed, all so a college coach has access to everything in one place. There is a master contact list so when they like a player, they can get in touch. It's the first of its kind.

OUR PLAYER VIDEO DATABASE

We film our players before high school season, to capture them at their peak. The videos are in their profiles, the recruiting guide, texted to coaches, and more. Check them out!

OUR PAGE FOR SCOUTS

We have an email list of over 200 schools, sourced by our players. And, we're serious about making it easy on scouts and recruiting coaches. Check out our page specifically for them.

#3 | PLAYERS GET THE WHOLE PACKAGE

PLAYER EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES

Nearly all of our coaching staff either played professionally, collegiately, and many are active, full-time baseball instructors. In addition to great coaching, players have access to nutritional resources, books, articles and countless guides that we make specifically for our players to use, learn and grow.

#4 | WE PRACTICE. A LOT.

WARBIRD ACADEMY TRAINING

For players who want to get better, there's no other choice. In addition to practicing as a team all fall, winter and summer, individuals can choose extensive training and lesson packages with Warbird. We teach the game the right way and stress higher-level concepts in the physical AND mental game.

#5 | WE PLAY A TOUGH SCHEDULE

CHALLENGE = GROWTH

We strike a strong balance between playing a very competitive tournament schedule, and keeping costs reasonable. We play where the competition and exposure will be strong while still keeping a few local tournaments on our schedule. We also have our teams play "Up" an age level a few times a year.

NOTE: SCOUTS DON'T JUST SHOW UP.

Have you been to an "exposure tournament" recently? What you'll find is that there are typically ZERO college and pro scouts in attendance. Rather, they only show up when they have leads on players. We put in endless work talking with scouts, letting them know where each team and player will be. If your current team doesn't do this, no one will be there to watch you play.

BACKGROUND CHECKS

If you sign up to try out, we are going to Google you, look at your social media accounts, ask friends and former coaches about your character, family, parents, work ethic, ability, etc. We don't want players OR parents with bad attitudes or the wrong outlook on sports.

AM I EXPECTED TO TRAIN AND TAKE LESSONS AT WARBIRD?

We want to get to know each player. The small fee added to player dues is used for lessons or training at Warbird Academy. We do a tremendous amount of recruiting work for our players that is included at no cost. In return, we expect our players to support us and our academy, AND we want players who believe in our instruction and expertise. The more we work with a player, the more we will know about his strengths and weaknesses, and where he fits best in college baseball. It makes our recruiting work easier when we see a player consistently off the field. We are sensitive to our long-drive players, however, as players come to us from 29 different high schools.
